29Jun2026
03Jul2026

This regulated qualification – designed by SFJ Awards in collaboration with the Protective Security Centre (Home Office) – is designed to upskill security professionals and attract new talent to the protective security sector. It is the first qualification to be endorsed by all three of the government’s National Technical Authorities: NPSA, UK NACE and NCSC. The objective of the programme is to provide learners with baseline knowledge and skills required to carry out the role of a Protective Security Adviser. This qualification equips delegates with the competencies to understand how the protective security disciplines dovetail to provide the foundations of ‘security convergence’. Completion of this qualification will provide an understanding of how threat actors target us with a converged approach, and the importance of protecting organisational assets with robust converged security mitigations providing organisational seniors with a single overview of protective security risk. Please note, before applying for this programme, it is essential that individuals and organisations understand the commitment required to successfully complete the course. This includes 5 full-time days in classroom (either virtual or face-to-face) followed by up to nine months of supported self-study that delegates complete online. In certain circumstances, the time allocated for self-study can be extended if needed. There are 14 modules to complete in total. Learners will be required to complete all work and assessments in order to successfully pass the course and receive the Level 4 Certificate.
